In this day school we’ll explore the value of place not as an inert backdrop but as a vital force in our narrative. We’ll investigate the role that location might play in a narrative and consider the relationship between place and character. We’ll also explore the strategies we can use to evoke a strong sense of place. Our intention is that you will leave feeling better equipped to use place to add texture and atmosphere to your writing.
Classes are relaxed but focused. The atmosphere is supportive and designed to build confidence and develop skills through a combination of reading, discussions and practical exercises.
