This course has been cancelled. Please register your interest by using the ‘Ask a Question’ function and we will notify you when this course, or a similar course, is next run.

Each course in the 'One day, one novel' series focuses on one novel, and through a series of lecture and class discussions, helps you to study it in great depth, getting to know the author and the text as closely as possible. This one-day course will introduce students to Jack Kerouac’s defining novel of the ‘Beat’ Movement, On the Road. The tutor recommends the Penguin Classics edition of this novel. Please read the novel in full before the course and please bring a copy with you to the class.

Unless otherwise stated, teaching and assessment for ICE courses are in English. Students whose first language is not English should refer to the Competence in the English Language Policy for further guidance.
