Books have served for centuries as silent therapists for incalculable numbers of readers. It is not without reason that the inscription over the entrance to the ancient Greek library at Thebes proclaimed it "The healing place of the soul". This weekend course will examine the philosophical origins (and underpinning) of bibliotherapy, and the various approaches that inform its practice.
