Unveiling the Universe

This double course gives an overview of the current state of knowledge about the contents and evolution of our universe, ranging from dark matter, vacuum energy, black holes and the birth and death of stars, to the latest results about the planets and origin of our solar system. Finally, we consider if we are alone. Includes a visit to the Institute of Astronomy (2.4km, 30 mins walk, c.20 mins bus). This is a double course which can only be taken with Qd3.
