Let me count the ways: love poems for all

This hour-long session will roam from Shakespeare to contemporary poetry by Joy Harjo and others, beginning with a short talk followed by open discussion and analysis of poems dedicated to people, places and creatures: we'll read poems full of passion for the human and the natural world and think about how love can play a part in our action against climate crisis.

This session is part of the Cambridge Festival 2025 programme and will be led by Dr. Jenny Bavidge, Academic Director in English Literature at the Institute for Continuing Education and Fellow in English at Murray Edwards College. She has written on a range of topics, including children's literature, Hilary Mantel, and rats.
