Experience fantastic films in the glorious grounds of Madingley Hall. Bring your friends, enjoy popcorn and perhaps come early and indulge in a BBQ as you relax on a summer evening.

Provided by Enchanted Cinema, the films begin at 8.00pm and are given a personal touch with a short introduction by Dr Jenny Bavidge. The Madingley Hall grounds are open from 6.00pm and food is served from 6.15pm.

  • 9 July: The Theory of Everything (12). Enjoy this quintessentially Cambridge film. A pre-film talk will be given by Professor Jerome Gauntlett, who advised on the science behind the film, at 7.00pm.
  • 6 August: Maurice (15). A Merchant Ivory classic - featuring a very young Hugh Grant. A pre-film talk will be given by Kit Hesketh-Harvey, who co-wrote the screenplay, at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £15 per film and include popcorn, the pre-film talks, and the view!

Although we are hoping for a balmy summer's night, please ensure that you bring blankets, warm clothing etc as required. Seats are not provided, so you are advised to bring something to sit on. As the old Hollywood maxim states, 'the show must go on', so please bring an umbrella in case of bad weather.
