Institute of Continuing Education (ICE)

Topical Talks 2021

A quiet revolution has been going on during lockdown. Well over 20 million adults in the UK engaged in some form of professional and/or continuing education. This phenomenon has been mirrored across the world, with huge growth of participation in post-compulsory learning.

As lockdown transitions into a post-pandemic recovery phase, then adults at all life stages will need to consider if and how they continue this learning journey. Such learning will be evermore essential as COVID-19 accelerates the fourth industrial revolution and communities and individuals adapt to new opportunities and profound changes.

In this presentation, Dr James Gazzard will outline how the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) fits into this fast-emerging sector, and how ICE, as an accessible provider of higher education, could be your gateway to Cambridge and a vibrant community of adult learners.
